meet Ann-Marie
After receiving an oil painting set as a Christmas gift from her parents at the age of 13, Ann-Marie began painting. She has been painting in one way or another ever since.
She grew up in Port Clinton, Ohio and attended college at the University of Toledo. She opted for a more traditional route in her education and focused on business and paralegal studies. After graduating, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona and continued her work as a paralegal. At the same time, she continued to pursue her love of art by taking photography courses and painting classes offered by Phoenix College, Arizona Art School and the Scottsdale Artists' School.
In her endeavor to satisfy her creative side, and after receiving an opportunity to leave the legal field, she maintained a photography studio and faux painting business and continued with painting classes when she was able. And, even though she has been summoned back into the legal world to assist her husband in his newly solo law practice, she continues to paint every chance she gets!
Her love of vintage posters, with their whimsy, vivid color and sense of humor, enticed her into painting a few of them for her own home. However, instead of keeping the original text on the posters, she decided to customize them personally for herself and her husband by painting in the name of their favorite Champagne, their favorite quotes, and placing their names somewhere in the painting. Friends visiting her home loved the idea and began requesting their own "original reproduction", picking out their favorite poster and having them recreated with whatever written words they chose!
Along with her vintage reproductions, Ann-Marie continues to learn and sharpen her artistic skills by creating her own true original pieces as well, keeping the same whimsy and vivid colors that she loves. She believes that art should evoke emotion and, in her case, she loves to stir up a little joy and make people smile.
Ann-Marie resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband, Bill, and their two pooches, The Macallan and Bella Palooza.
